Gijon.... ok no Gijon....

Well this weekend was originally suppose to be our long road trip to Gijon to play the Mariners, but terrible weather conditions in Northern Spain cancelled our road trip there as the game was suspended. Let down! But what seemed to be a quick let down, was a quick get back up , no homo, thanks to the sexy, sophisticated, everything you want in a woman, but is a man, David Benmayor!!! Him and Nordi lead us into the heart of Barca to the best chupitos joint in all of the BCN. All I know is that we took the Metro to Barceloneta, and when we arrived at the bar, shots of inglorious liquids consumed us, ha. I have never tried some of the shot that we took that night, but like Nordi promised, certainly the best chupitos bar in the BCN, and to be honest the best shots bar I done ever been to now that I put it like that.

After the bar, we headed to the Catwalk, haha, good times. It was a good night with a good amount of teammates, and it ended in a Chupitos Fashion with Meech, Isra, and myself carrying Blasi and his drunk self thru the metros of BCN and BDN, ha. Allan voice, "classic". What a team bonding experience, nothing like carrying your teammate, thrown up on, while I am wearing Carmonas jacket to stay warm, with a metro ticket Pho baught me, hahaha, its like the presence of the entire squad was apon me. All in all it was a great night that is for certain!

Now it is Sunday, we over here de Casa de los Imports just hammered off the weekend. This week should be a great one, we have a new import coming in, Meech boy David from Northwestern, life inside the Independencia Casa going to be filled with great vibes. Imagine that! A SIGMA and a nupe under the same roof, notice the capitalization of SIGMA, you know what it is. But I will welcome by fellow Phi NU Pi greek into the establishment, ha. Also, we got the Serbian Mob up in the crib too! Our boy Lazar, unfortunately he had to leave his home. But all that I have been through, he is more than welcomed to stay in our casa and I will extend my helping hand to him any time of the week.

Today is my fathers birthday!!! Big ups to my dad, I know that the last 3-4 years have been tough on us both, but what does not kill us only makes us stronger. Stronger as individuals but even stronger together because of the experiences that we share. So Happy Birthday to you DAD! Love you and miss you from out here in Espana.

I was just browsing around today, and on Facebook ol Nevada teammate Craig posted a link to a online gallery of photos from back sophomore year at the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, low key brought back some great memories that I shared with a great group of guys. So in light of the new finding, I figured I would post up one of the game photos, I laugh now thinking that I was almost 240 pounds that year, ha, gordo!

But today we are just recovering from a long weekend, good times here in Spain and from the looks of things the good times will keep rolling with or with out certain individuals. Now thee addition of David and Lazar in the crib only improves the overall vibe here, but more importantly strengthens the bonds we already have established here. With March here, I know April is around the corner. And with April comes EFL Euro Bowl games!!! As Meech would say, O' let do it!!!

As one sun sets, another sun rises...

It is funny how we as individuals at times go through life unaware of our actions and the affects that they have on those around us. We do things that will lead us down various paths in our lives, but what we forget is that actions speak louder than words. That in life, what we do and how we do it has more potency than any drug or more power than any punch. Because in the end of the day, words fade away into the wind, but our actions, what we do at a given point lasts forever. It last forever maybe not in our mind, or in the history books, but maybe in ways that helped change others lives, even for a day, minute, or second.

Today a good friend of mine sent me a care package here in Spain from the States. While it was filled with items such as my favorite PB and Co Cinnamon Raisin PB or stashes of other quality goods. The one item I valued the most in the box was in fact the least expensive one. In all reality, it was the only thing in the box that did not cost a thing. It was a note that read, "once again, thank you for all you've done for me in such a short time of knowing you... you told me the truth even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear at the moment... for that I will forever be grateful." For those of you that know me, and I do not mean just as some one who added me from the "suggestions" box on Facebook, but some one who really knows me for me. The last year and a half has been a roller coaster ride to say the least. Battling depression, beating anorexia, coming back to play football after Chris Ault and Nevada said my shoulder never could again, and just dealing with all the stress of knowing my life was not where I wanted it to be. To read those words today made me realize you do not have to be some you are not in life to have a positive affect on the world. Just be you. Don't buy into societies bullshit, materialistic stereotypes it imposes, or the medias profound attempt to highlight human chaos. Simply be you, because you never know, even the smallest actions, to you may be nothing, to some one else may be moving.

A little over a year ago I sat in my aunt Miriams living room, texting a good friend of mine, Keisha Hernandez, with the words, "I want to die." It was a low point in my life. Today I sit looking out a window in Spain at a life I then never imagined possible. Never give up on your aspirations, never give up on your dreams, because they are what will get you thru the days but more importantly thru the nights. Do not just live life, learn how to LOVE to live life, because life is too short to focus on the negative when their is so much positive to be done. We all fall, but what is important is that we get back up.

I know this post has nothing to do with football or the current season here in Europe. But, to me this post means more than any other one I have done. Because it involves a moment in my life were I thought I would not ever live again. I forgot, as an All State Insurance commerical said, "it is not about how big your tv is, but who is around with you watching it instead." I bought into what misery threw at me, I am just glad God gave me a second chance to give misery its final TKO.

One life, one love. Beaten but never broken.

This is Sergio Villasenor, this is me.

Osos Clips....

Here are some clips from this weekends game versus Osos Madrid. Side note, when I got home last night I received an email from Justin Podzimek of Bodybuilding.com stating that I had won the Male Transformation. I was pretty stoked considering all that I have been through in the past year and a half. Good way to cap off the night. I was so amp'd up last night that I did not even sleep, I was working on the information BB.com wanted for the article, plus I was working on a new defense with Meech that coach had wanted us to put together. Hopefully he likes it. But here are the clips:

Sunday after Osos...

Top of the eveving to you, today reminded me while how great the game of football is, you really love these recouperation days to just bum it around the house and relax. Well, Osos came, they saw us, and pretty much that was about it because I think their team never really left Madrid to begin with. We came out from the openning kick off and show set the tone with Nordi returning it for a touchdown. On defense, we started a little slow again but we gathered ourselves, stapped ourselves in, and got focused.

All in all the game itself was a good one, while the score, 49-12 seems good. i still do not believe we are any where near playing up to our true capabilities. We had some errors on both sides of the ball, nothing drastic, just some mental errors that we need to get cleaned up before EFL Euro Bowl group play begins and we face off against the team from Italy and Austria.

I did expect Osos to put up more of a fight to be honest. I think that they spent more of their energy trying to cheap shot us under the pile and with some late hits, don't trip I got your back Big Dave and Meech, that they forgot that they still had to play football and try to win. O well, we just stuck to our game plan, did not let them get in our heads and dialed up a good win for Badalona.

I played okay considering I got cleated after a punt return in the first quarter. My damn right quad took a nice fat cleat to it after the play but it is okay, I think people forget that at this point after all that I have been through I can push through anything. But I will not lie, the shit did hurt, ha! But any ways, another two receiving touchdowns on offense again, had a nice couple runs after the catch in the first half, a cool as my roommate "Guti" will suggest "Reggie Bush"-type punt return going up and across and back wards, and a couple nice shots on some of the Osos wide receivers over the middle. I do not think they will be throwing the ball there in our next encounter. I think Me and Nick do get ESPN Top Blooper nonimation for the last play of the game. I think we both saw 100 yard INT for a touchdown and ended up running into each other, joder! I'll take the blame on that one, ran into my boy Nick, my greedy ass wanted another touchdown.

Side note, I must admit, our HC Oscar, he is one intense ass mo fo! We was up 49-6 and he was yelling and getting on us about mistakes. I was like damn, we up coach, but then again I understand him. We have some big games coming up soon and we really need to limitour mental errors. But he is a great coach and man so I have upmost respect for him.

Now, the moment yall really reading this still, un noche en Barcelona! The night was crazy, Nordi, Meech, and I ended up in our under wear taking pictures at the first bar, I think by then the number of chupitos for each guy their had to have been at least 12-13 by then. So after a cool bar scene we strolled over to the local "boom boom room", ha. Guapas, chupitos, my teammates and friends, I could not have asked fir a better night. We did not stroll into the apartment until about 8 am ish, pretty safe to say we was all shit faced. I do have to call our group last night the "hobbling hooligans" just because I think every one of us was sore or had some kind of knock on from the damn game. I know I limped my ass all the way across town all night, shoot, by the end of the night I was on one leg just holding onto railings to stay up. Damn leg, o well. Good times.

Well, until the next installment, coming to you from Casa de Importos Americanos on Carrer de la Independencia, Julio Georgio or what ever your name was with an O is saying Cianar Moufasa!

Catalunya vs Madrid...

Well ladies and gents with Friday winding down here in Catalunya, the anticipation for tomorrows match with Osos Madrid is getting me going here in the early evening. After watching the Euro Players documentary on last season Euro Bowl between Swarco and Flash, it has really just motivated me further to play even harder, faster, and with more urgency. As I was watching the footage, after you block out the big name sponsors, fancy uniforms, and all the other variables surrounding the game; you notice that their is nothing special about either team. While I will not discredit them, they do have outstanding coaching and discipline on both sides of the ball, and some nice talent, their is not differance between them and Dracs.

No difference? Did he just say what I think he said? Yes I did, some guys will say you have only 22 players or some of your team is junior players. What they forget is that when the lights come on, laces are tightened, and chin straps buckled up, the only thing that matters is the 11 guys that take the field representing your team. The cheerleaders, uniforms, visors, sponsors, and all that other crap means nothing in between the two goal posts and green field. The only thing that matters is the will and desire in the hearts of yourself and teammates.

With that said. I have made a commitment to myself to do anything and everything on the field to bring to Badalona, the city that has given my career and life a second wind, a EFL Euro Bowl and out right Spanish League Championship. I feel that in my first two games here in Espana I played shitty and unemotional. I feel as if I only gave half of me, but come tomorrow, and every day after that, my teammates, coaches, and other members of this great organization will see another side.

Winning is not just something you do or show up and get lucky with. Winning is a state of mind, it is a culture with in a team that is evident from the president down to the equipment managers. We must establish a new mind set, build off the Drac reputation of being hard faught players who strike fear in the heart of their opponents. Build off that, build more fear in our opponents. have them know whether they line up against our most seasoned or youngest player, they will have their ass handed to them.

This is Dracs football, this is the start of what I will call our destiny.

No good byes, only hellos.

Ima Drac! What are you?

Wednesday of Osos Madrid Week...

Its Wednesday!!! Hump Day, haha, well I am very excited for this Saturday. We have a big game in terms of building more momentum after our win against Pioneers two weeks ago now. We have to remain focused as a team and we will continue to grow and build off previous performances. So come this Saturday, I am expecting us to really come out on fire, just offense moving the ball, defense stuffing everything, and celebrating a well earned victory over Osos Madrid.

For all of those wondering, you have seen some new linked photos on the blog, Roger Kelly at Euro Players runs a great site that allows teams, in Europe, to communicate with players abroad in the States and get them playing here in Europe. So with that said, I have linked Euro Players directly at the top of my blog, so all of you players interested in bringing your skills abroad, check his website out. Also, here are some links of me on his site: Success Stories and Links/Blogs. So when you have a chance take a look at that.

At the bottom you will see a sports supplement brand called VPX Sports. They are a recently new company to the supplement industry in comparison to Muscle Tech and BSN; however, I can honestly say that their products are innovative and leaders in their respective categories. Check their website out as well.

It was a crazy week thus far, my mom told me that our dog had died, yeah I know, sucks. DJ was probably the best lost East Los Angeles park mutt you can ever have. I am certainly going to miss he jumping on me when I try and get in the pool out back and stuff. Now who do we give all the left overs too? Damn!

Another big update, my best friend Keisha Hernandez told me yesterday that she is now engaged. I was really happy for her, I know she had been telling me about a great guy she met so I wish them best on their engagement. May God bring you two many happy times together and best believe I will be at the wedding killing that cake. Because knowing Keisha, she going to have some bomb ass cake and desserts! Ha.

But back to the Espana lifestyle, its Wednesday, still cloudy and cold out here in Europe but what you going to do. It is another day that God has blessed us with and we have to make the most of it. We have practice tonight as a team so meeting up with the guys later for that. Yesterday great, seeing Manchester United beat ol boys of AC Milan, ha, I was chanting Glory Glory Man United, Rooooooney is certainly making his claim for a run at FIFA Player of the Year. Great site to see Real Madrids money machine go down in Lyon, ha, now Lyon needs to finish them on the return leg and send them rich ol boys packing. But, I think a trip out to Poland to see an ol college friend is in store for our next bye week. See what this so called "Poo Land" is all about, judging from picture, I best take some jackets, but then again it snowed at sea-level here in Spain so this global warming stuff is no joke.

My aunt Patty last night gave me a great phrase, and best believe I am going to start using it. She said that we live in the Paris Hilton Syndrome decade. And I totally agree, I see so many young people these days feeling like they are entitled to anything and everything. Get your ass up and go earn something for a change. I just felt compelled to share it, it was one of those 3 am conversations that I will never forget, ha. But I miss all my aunts, cousins, family, every one back home, love you guys!

Adios.

Sunday Fun Day...

Well it is 6:00am Sunday morning here in Espana, and well I do not really know what the heck I am still doing up. All I know is that this is what I get for sleeping in until about 2pm yesterday, o well, stay up all day today then get some good nights rest later I suppose. But anyways, today should be a good day, I know the Junior Dracs play today so trying to make it to see the youngster go out there a whoop some @**, hehe.

Here is a highlight clip of me vs Pioneers during our Derby match this past weekend.

And here is another clip of my first game out here in Espana vs Valencia Firebats, do not worry, we got something for they ass on the second time around. Best believe that 14-6 loss was a one time fluke of quantum proportions, ha.

But all seriousness, I do have some tidying up to do today, got a stack full of laundry to throw in the washer and take care of. I feel real ol' school out here with out a dryer and just hang drying everything. Kind of gives me a real like I am back in the day vibe, but it is good, makes you appreciate all the little appliances we have back in the States that makes life a little bit easier. But dryer or no dryer, I love Spain baby don't get it twisted.

Dracs TV! It is in the works, just wait until we get production going in full swing out here in the B-Town, Meech already did the first Import Commercial this past week and got great reviews to my understanding so Dracs TV! should be a instant success. We will be featuring our own commercials, as well as the life and times of American Imports in Europe in gerneral. I know it is starting off as Dracs TV!; however, our intentions is to make a European wide broadcast that features everything and anything about American Football here through out Europe. Our main goal is just to continue expanding the awareness of American Football here over seas. A lot of people here do not understand the concept of the game, the start and stop, but the more they become familair with it, the more they will start to enjoy it for what it is truely worth.

I do not know who is worst right now either, the NFL or the NBA? How do you mess up the Pro Bowl, then turn around and mess up the Slam Dunk contest. Really? Come on now people! I stood my ass up till the next day to watch the Slam Dunk Contest, weak.

My heart does go out to the Olympic lugger from Georgia Republic though. Out here in Europe they do not have the same censorship issues we have in the States, and I happened to actually see the replay of the tragedy that took place out in Canada this past day. Sad story. Just an average guy representing his country and doing what he loved to do. It is kind of ironic to think of going out doing something you love, but then again that is the only way I would want to go too, maybe not with the pain but certainly doing what brings a smile to your face. RIP, and may God take care of you.

Well that is about it for this installation, we have Osos Madrid this Saturday in Madrid, so lets go and get that second win and go to 2-1. Adios.

Esteban Seis....

over and out!

Tuesday after a Derby

Well, Saturday nights Battle for Cataluyna ended in a 40-32 victory for our very own B-Town Dracs. Pioneers came into the game very confident, but in the end of the day, the Dracs were just too much for the Puto Pioneers. As you notice it was a very high scoring game, it was really back and forth the whole way, until the forth quarter when it mattered the most, the more confient and just better team prevaled. Offense in this game really came on strong from our poor showing in Valencia, and to think we are not even operating at max capacity yet is just mind boggling. Once we really get into a groove on the offensive side of the ball, we are going to be putting up massive amounts of points. I think on defense we prepared a little too much in anticpation that a certain Pioneer played but he did not. It kind of threw a wrench in our weekly preperations leading up to the game. But we certainly have to step it up on defense. We have a bye week before we head into Madrid to really sit down a re-evaluate what we did wrong and get it fixed. Honestly, if we can just eliminate half of our mistakes on the football field i really do not see a team in Spain even competing with us; furthermore, if we can keep up the momentum running the ball and passing when we need to on offense I really see a possibilty of going to the finals of EFL Euro Bowl. Yes quote me, rewind, what did he just say, yes I said it. Euro Bowl Finals, we have the chemistry, swagger, and team to do it. We have an innovative offense with a young quarterback who is maturing every day, a solid group of receivers, a line that is getting better every week and who is tough, and a running back in Nordi that will pound it out inch by inch if he has too. As long as we can come to practice focused and play with a purpose we will be a contender for a championship run in both Spain and Europe.

How did the game go for me, well they say I did good, but in all reality to my standards I did marginal at best. I had 2 touchdowns on offense but it should have been three. I must admit, I am liking the Sergi to Sergio connection on the deep balls. Call it S squared (I don't have the math sign for squared but you get my point). Defensively I think we were just out of sync. I think once we just said fuck it and run man, we were okay in the second half but the first half was a nightmare on defense for both teams. But with that said, much room to grow and build off of for Osos in Madrid in two weeks.

Yesterday was a cool day, we did a video broadcast interview with the local Badalona communications network. Just talking about the derby win over Pioneers and how we are liking Spain. I told them I love it! When can I get a passport and just make my stay here a life long one. I had the camera guy rolling with that one but in all seriousness why leave? This place is amazing to me, I love it! Each day I wake up and I just see opportunties around every corner here.

But it is Tuesday, I just got back from the gym and hopefully my packages from the States arrive today. Some much needed goodies in them!!!

With Friday comes Inspiration

Well its Friday here in the B-town, last night being around Nestor and his friends, along with Meech, some interesting business ideas were certainly formulated. if not business ideas, certainly just possible money making ideas in general. After being in Spain for a month now, I have realized that the amount of graffiti here is unprecedented. However, while many of us in the states correlate graffiti with just a way of trashing public property, here in Spain it is truly an artwork. So, in the midst of our adventurous night in Badalona, while surveying this "artwork", I said to Meech, "man I got an idea". In the states we have many magazines that are tailored for graffiti artwork, shoes, clothes; however, this type of idea on an international-level might be something to look into. So I am currently in the works of creating a new webiste, with the future goal of publishing a monthly magazine, called International Writings on the Wall, "the alphabets of graffiti". I have never really endevoured into art in general so I feel that this would be a cool idea for me to take on. So Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop have been opened on my computer for every hour since arriving home last night. So far, interesting developments.

Secondly, well with it being Friday, that means tomorrow it is Pioneers baby!!! Just wait till you hear the new remixed single, Ima Drac, featuring Konan and Tarzan, off the album, Feasting on the Competition, haha, a lot of inside comments and titles in that sentence but do look out for our new single coming straight from the BDN. But back to Pioneers, we really need to get focused in these final hours leading up to the game. This is a big game for the Dracs organization because of the rivalry with Pioneers, but more importantly I feel this game is a statement game. Meaning, this game can dictate how we play the remaining games of the season. Even though it is early still, only second game, it is vital that we step it up tomorrow and really just play together and how we know we can. As long as we get going on offense and defense gets to the QB, we will certainly win the game. So lets get it!!!

Well it is about a little over a week now on the Warrior lifetsyle, and it is going great. I know a lot more of the guys on the team are asking what is the WARRIOR stuff we talk about, and thats good, I mean it isnot for every one but if you want to try it, GO FOR IT! I am loving it, getting better sleep at night, feeling totally focused during the day, and really just feels that I can enjoy other things in life a lot more. So for me, it is a smash hit.

Oh oh oh, forgot to mention that I got a bike! Well thanks to Jordi, now we are mobile so expect tons of new photos of the city and everything. Glad to finally get the bike, a lot more mobile because walking around is cool and all, but walking 6 or 7 miles a day up and down hills, I be low key leaked, so this bike should come in real handy.

But that is about it, new pics from tomorrows game on my Facebook as soon as I get them!!! This is Esteban "Tres Juevos" Seis aka Tarzan over and out from the B-Town!

Almost a month in...

Well it is already going to be a month into my stay here in Spain, damn time flies when you are around great people and in a beautiful country such as this. First three weeks were busy and getting acclimated to the new environment here. Been around all of Barcelona now, visited some of the smaller towns around here, had the first game in Valencia, but now I am really trying to get a grasp of the culture here. For some reason I am just deeply drawn to the lifestyle here, the laid back vibe here is just so much more relaxing than being back in the States, but that is just my opinion.

I suppose it is time to get my tourist on here in Spain and start seeing some of the museums around Barcelona. I know that for the first time the other night I was able to see the Sagrada Família, it was an amazing work of architecture. As we walked through the inner center of Barcelona you really come to admire much of the design and layout of the city. The older buildings you really see the detail with the sculptures and carvings into the framework of each building.

We have another bye week coming up soon, and I have pretty much made up my mind that I want to take the boat across the Med to Cairo, Egypt, I have always been fond of seeing foreign locations and I am just glad that God has given me this opportunity to really just see the world. All my life, many of the things I now see I only saw in books and magazines, so witnessing them in person is big to me.

But it is Pioneers week, big derby match this Saturday, so we really need to come into the game focused and full of momentum. We have been tinkering with both the offense and defense so we can really start developing some flow to our game. I think once we just settle down we will be a great team. I know me personally I want to just keep building off the last game, it is like my foot is stuck on the gas, to me their is no such thing as last.

Well, getting my Tarzan on so Esteban Seis is out!

B-town down!
